HCA acquires HealthSouth Chattanooga Surgery Center

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  (Feb. 15, 2006) – Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Inc., the nation’s largest hospital company, has acquired the HealthSouth Chattanooga Surgery Center. The transaction closed on Feb. 13. Financial details were not disclosed.

HCA’s Ambulatory Surgery Division is assuming management oversight for the outpatient surgery center located at 400 N. Holtzclaw Ave.

Chattanooga Surgery Center has five operating rooms and two treatment rooms where multiple-specialty surgical procedures are performed.

HCA’s Ambulatory Surgery Division operates 94 outpatient surgery centers in 16 states and plans to acquire five to 10 outpatient surgery centers and 25 imaging centers over the next year.
